my car is actin a fool....its doing things when it wants too...fog lights eventhough they are 2 weeks old the other morning would come on. but work today...then cruise control (with brand new cruise linkage) will turn on some of the time when i push the button...is this small stuff a sign that my ecu is getting ready to poop out on me?

Nope, that stuff has nothing to do with the ECU.

Smells of seafood, clicking behind the dash (stereo area), car won't start/dies due to fuel pump relay cutting out.

a bad ecu often throws a bunch of random CE codes too

Don't say that! Mine started doing wierd things like not wanting to start if the radio is on.
