Does anyone know if you can transfer the registration from one car to another? Case in point, I want to transfer the registration from my 2g to 1g. I going to finish the 1g tomorrow and Saturday and use it as my daily driver until I figure out what I am going to do with the 2g.
Thanks.

They wouldn't let me do it without selling the other.

Same here, I tried using my plates from my Rx7 and just transfer them to the talon. They said no, cause the car is still in my name. And make sure you dont drop your insurance too. As long as you have plates on a car you gotta have state minimum or else they can send you one of those letters asking for prove of insurance. I asked that too cause I have my 7 in storage and wanted to get rid of plates to use on my talon and get rid of insurance to cover it cause its in storage. Couldnt even do that cause the car has plates.

Thanks for the look out on insurance, but I was already aware of it. I just went ahead and bought plates. I will be getting storage insurance on the 2g until I sell it.

When the state means "insurance" they mean LIABILITY coverage. If you have valid current tags then you must have liability insurance coverage. They want this coverage regardless of whether or not it will be driven. The only way around it is to make sure your car is off the street and in a garage and just turn the plates in to them. Tell them the car is in storage or it's broken down and needs a new engine and it will be a long time before you will get to it. If you are close to the expiration date on your tags then wait till a day after they expire and just cancel the insurance. That works too. You can get fire/theft insurance coverage for your car while it sits in storage but the state does not give a crap if you have that type of coverage or not. It's the liability coverage is what they look at and only if you have current tags.

Erg..! I just re-registered the tags in November for a year. I did that with the Explorer, let the registration expire and canceled the insurance.
