I just updated my Geico policy to add the RUST RKT (finally)
It went from 252 to 352 /6mo term...(when I added the rustrkt) Minimum Coverage on both, since I couldnt care less if I totaled the $900 NADA valued daily.
Just wondering what you other kids are paying.

Do you people even carry the suggested minimum coverage that insurance companies suggest or do you go with the state law minimums which is a lot less?

I carry the $100,000/$300,000/$50,000 liability State Farm suggested coverage which I don't think is enough. State law requires $12,500/$25,000/$7,500. You could easily have a car accident and demolish several cars and put several people in the hospital. And if your policy does not cover it all, you could be sued and they will come after your assets. And if you own a home and spent years paying for it, then it will be gone in a blink of an eye. Oh, and if you are under 21 years old, they can come after your parents' assests as well. In Ohio, you still could be considered a dependent of your parents until you are 21. (Well, so I've heard.)
I've been thinking about something called a million dollar global liability coverage which would cover the house or the car on the same policy.
My 2-car "multi-car" State Farm Boy discount is cheaper than 1-car coverage. My 2nd car is on a minimal fire/theft coverage which costs $20 to $30 for 6 months while it sits parked. And since I don't have tags for the car anymore, this is my only costs on the car for the past year. This fire/theft coverage is just to keep the policy active. I pay $292 for 6 months on the new Jetta and I have $1,000 deductable on comprehensive. This $292 would go up maybe $50 if I got rid of the 2nd car.

Ha you all are getting screwed, I pay $170/month a year for full coverage on 02 galant, 96 explorer sport 4x4, Liability/theft/fire on 95 eclipse gsx, 91 honda accord. I love my insurance company an the have been great to work with, when the explorer was hit the first time, they had it in the shop and taken care of within 3 days including a representative coming to look at the vehicle. But I also have homeowners through them so that my help. They also give me a discount for having BS Degree, and I'll get more of a discout next month when Im 25. And that is with all the coverages mike black stated above with some small variances.

I called Progressive today and dropped the motorcycle. Should have done that when I wrecked it, I probably would have had the money to fix it. lol Getting $114 back on it, and it's only going to cost me around $300 to get it back on the road. Now if I could only get the dsm back on the road for that cheap. Of course maybe I can, if I knew what was wrong, but that's another topic all together.
