I know this. You don't have that front do you? Buying stuff makes me feel better about owning the car.. even though it does not run. It will though. Hope by the begining of July. Maybe sooner. I dunno.

I blew a rod through the oil pan.. i am not sure if i scored the block or not.. but the car has not ran for some time now. Honestly, when I lift the hood, i start taking stuff apart and don't know what I am getting into. But I know the bottem half of the rod, probably the 3rd cyl. put a shotgun sized hole throught the oil pan. anybody wanting to come out and take a look is more than welcome to..just call or email and I'll get you directions. 740-862-6614 or josh_nicodemus@yahoo.com

It might be worth the time and money to just get a whole new motor? Or you could just keep taking things apart and hope one day you will come upon the problem. You should start a poll, Should I fix it or buy a new motor. What ever gets more votes in a week wins. Let the people decide. :beer

can i ask what you were doing when it went kaput??? With as many problems as you have had with that, i say get a new motor and then sell.
that way you can say it has a new motor and tranny.

well, this time when it blew... I took it to the shop for a minor prob that I could have fixed, but was just to lazy... got it back and the engine was knocking.... uhh... well, drove it for a bit.. then knocking got louder. so I was on my way to a different shop and the rod let loose and went through the oil pan. i am thinking about unloading the car. I am looking at a 2nd gen RX-7 twin turbo..as long as the apex does not blow it looks like a fun ride to have

just a little word of advice -- if u think that a dsm is a headache, wait till u own a rx-7 -- u will seriously hate life more than u do now -- they are one of the only cars i know of that have MORE problems than a dsm -- i would seriously reconsider your choice of vehicles

Nice front end. Is it fiberglass or Poly? Do you have any strut braces yet? If not let me know, I still have those left from my 97.

Thanks... It's fiber..but oh well. I did not pay a whole lot for it. I do have front and rear strut braces... Thanks :beer

I drove my 2g rx7 turboII for 5 years without ever having a problem. Then of course, when a problem did arrise-the engine blew and had to be replaced...Don't know if the rx7's these days are more "unreliable" or not. I know I'd love to have my old rx7 back (compared to my pos right at the moment) :rolleyes

some rx7's are reliable, the ones that arent modded at all, and sometimes they arent reliable -- i know dsm's arent really either, but would u rather replace an entire engine or just little shit on the dsm?
