What is the Mitsubishi 18G turbo?

Why are these turbos so rarely used on DSM's and on Hondas?

Is there something wrong with them?

What you have there is a 600cfm compressor that is very close to both the 550cfm 16g, and 650cfm 20g. The 18g gives up a bunch of efficiency being too big of a turbine wheel for the tdo5 compressor housing. Some companies have thrown the greddy compressor housing on and mated it to a mitsu turbine housing, but at that point why screw around, you'll be paying almost as much as if you got a 20g at that point. Bottom line is that it's not worth the premium over a 16g, and if you're going to pay more, why not spend the xtra 100 or so and get a 20g.

Someone told me once that an 18G turbo has all the power of a Big16G and all the lag of a 20G. So, just get a 16 or a 20.
