Cleveland AFC tuning > C-bus AEM gremlins

And even though its dead, the Colt has set a standard in the WWD war. It set the bar high, and now you punks need to try and jump over it.

I dont. According to your theory, if John Shep was to retire his car, or wreck it, then he would no longer hold the current record for the fastest AWD 4 banger? Or Effantis (or whoever is) the fastest import if he crashed his car? No, they would still hold the title, until some one eclipsed it.

In this battle of Ohio FWD superiority, only one bar has yet to be broken-

Very nice, I will conced. I was going to say this is a street car battle, and even if he drives it to work once a week...ect- Until I see him rolling on a Busa from a 40 roll on 270, Im not ocnviced.

BUT-Since Gunner's car is in the mix- I guess the street car thing is out the window. Gunner better run a 9.x, because my next car spins the "right" wheels.

JP, Corey drove that heap to and from the track under its own power last weekend. It's definitely a street car, and mine is as far from one as it gets. 9's might not be out of the question if I ever get serious with the powertrain.

Im not being a hater, I give Corey all the props in the world. car looks great, runs great...ect.

BUT-if you guys want to play the comparissons game.

What did Corey run THIS past weekend, when he dove the car to and from the track under its own power? :cool

If I had a trailer, I may have turned my heap up to kill, with some real gas as well, but when your driving too and from-its a different story isnt it.

He didn't even change tires dude. Quit your damn hating. The car is, was, and will always be both quicker and faster than the colt.

His first pass down the track was a 10.9 at 142mph look like he was short shiftinf the car and not power shifting. Then scotto went 10.8 with almost 10mph less. The car has alreadt proved itself 9.9 with about 670 to the wheels know he has 770 so the car should goes maybe low 9's? But atleast he can say he has a parashute. <spelling owns me:beer

Daddy was crew chief, car owner. Go tell Tony Pedregon that he hasn't run 300 mph because he was in John Force's car. (I know he's not on that team anymore) Just because he didn't pay for the car doesn't mean he didn't go that quick.

You misconstrued what I was trying to say. "Daddy" was used because Drew was still a minor when he ran the car. Hell, he may not have even had his "real" driver's license at that point.

There is a difference between a full time paid professional race car driver and a kid who drove his dad's toy down the track a few times.

Dont get me wrong, driving a 170mph car is an accomplishment, but in terms of this argument-it does not hold much water.

ucsigep
07-27-2006, 06:32 PM
uh, he didn't drive "his dad's toy down the track a few times."

The car was built for him. You must have a Super Comp license to drive the car, Drew had the license, not his dad. It certainly wasn't his dad's toy. Honestly I think his dad had more fun watching Drew than he would if he was driving (as I'm sure any father would).

But yes, I agree that in regards to the topic at hand, it doesn't really apply.

haha, i'll clear it up, since someone's feelings got hurt:rolleyes: i raced jr. dragsters until i was 15. decided to make the jump to the big cars and got a 225" RED. I was not 16 yet, therefore couldn't run it. My dad raced it for 1/2 season until i turned 16 and got my ohio driver's license. I then did the NHRA licensing for a 175"+ car to 7.49. After that my dad and I alternated racing the car. he would run it sat. nites at pacemakers, and me sundays at NTR. I then went out to Indy for the NHRA Divisional race and ran supercomp(8.90 index) with the throttle stop. over 120 cars and the motor let loose at half track in the 3rd round. dropped a valve and killed both heads and all 8 pistons. we spent the rest of the year fixing it and sold it. now i race bikes.

shit-My dad's idea of supporting the car things was to offer buying my a "normal" car if I stoped modding them about 4 years ago. I said no. I dont know if any male on that side of the family can change there own oil. It must be nice to sponsored......

As for agreeing that its off topic-

That was my moms idea. Still is. "If you'd leave that damn thing alone it would run more. " But my dad, he doesn't know much about working on cars. We had some of the best times rebuilding the 350 he put in his Chevelle. He had a friend that was good, I was just really getting into cars, and he knew nothing. He loves to hear about my car at the track. :)

Thanks.

People don?t realize what a long hard road it has been for me, and how little time it has taken me to get there. But honestly, I would not trade it for a thing, because now I have such a vast wealth of hands on, I KNOW for a fact, I have done/seen/built this before when it comes to Hondas, DSM's, and forced induction systems as a whole-and know all the short cuts that work so I can have the power I want and keep the budget to a bare minimum-I grantee I would not have even a 1/3 of it if I was "sponsored" or heavily assisted in the building of my junk.

Who knows. Im sure I would be saying I would not have it any other way if I was on the other side of the fence as well.

idk where you think that just because someone is being backed by their father who loves racing that they dont do their own work and that they are "sponsored". true we bought the car built, but we did all the maintenance and upkeep, other than the full motor rebuild as we do not have the equipment to take on such a task. I was only 16, no way i would be able to do that on my own. now i've just turned 20 and am slowly getting myself to be independent in the roadracing i do. i own both bikes myself as well as part of the race trailer. i bought all my gear and most of the parts for the bike. for next year i'll own the truck hopefully and the only thing that my dad will be doing is helping out and enjoying our time together. yes i do have REAL sponsors that i have contracts with, but other than just giving out discounts on product it's not a big deal. it's not like someone buys my bikes and pays for everything. i put everything i have into racing, because i absolutely love it and i know there could possibly be a future in it for me.
