Well I was in Ohio last week and decided to hit up the Mitsu dealerships since the ones here in Florida seem to be scared or something to get an Evo on the lot or let alone even let you test drive one. So while at the new car show room I checked out the yellow one they had. Nice but not my color choice. I asked if they expected to get a blue one any time soon since I do plan on getting and blue one in the near future. They said yeah there is once at the used lot. So I go down there and check it out beautiful car on the out side, but I noticed alot of wear and tear on the inside for a car with 3000 miles. Then they asked if I wanted to drive it and of course I wasnt going to pass that up. First thing I noticed was the check engine light was on, and evertime I wouild slow down and not even be on the brakes the car would make a horrible sound, with out it being in gear or on the brakes just coasting to a stop. It also seemed as if the brakes were warped because it just felt weird. They were asking $33,000 for the car which is way too much for it being used and in the condition the interior is.

Anybody else drive the car? I just think its wrong that a $33,000 car with 3000 miles on it should be like that, the previous owner really mistreated it.

You should be able to get a new one for 28,000. They were blowing smoke up your ass with the 33,000 price. Considering the interior is "tore up" and there is obviously something wrong with it mechanically. Th e price should be 22,000 to 23,000. I say the car was DRAG RACED SEVERELY. The tranny is probably about to give out on it. It's probably got crankwalk too.

Does anyone remember someone driving a blue one locally? And possibly dragracing it or taking it to the autocross events? WHen you say wear and tear on the interior, does it look like they had mounted extra gauges on the interior....like...like....a big shift light???? possibly some holes here and there? Or maybe like something was stuck to the dash?

no there were scratches all over the interior front and rear, more so on the rear passenger side door. It just looks like they drove the piss out of it let their kids mess up the rear interior front was fine, no guages were mounted except for the cheap factory ones in the stupidest spot possible. They did keep saying that the owners brother had it before so that may be one reason they actually took the car back from him in that condition.

JP, Justin and I saw it there a month ago. Stopped in and talked with a sales rep. He said that the person who owned it was a brother (or something like that) to the dealer and got it for real cheap. He then drove it for awhile and "didn't like it." I think he went and got a Z06 instead. That was the story we were given about the car.

dog in the back seat scratching up the inside? Anyway....that is a new car and that is just plain lack of respect. Whoever it was should be banned for life from driving a DSM.

I didn't see the used one you're talking about last time I was there, but do have a EVO story one of the guys there shared with me.
He said a kid, that JUST turned 17, came in a few weeks ago with mommy, from Worthington, looking to buy a car. She put him in a Lancer, I think it was and he liked it, but then persuaded her over to the EVO. He convinced her to buy it for him using the excuse, "but mom, I'll be much safer in this car because it HANDLES a lot better espcially in bad weather, it's just a little faster and has AWD, so it will be better and safer for me to drive"...haha
Mommy took the bait and ended up financing $38,000 out the door and payments of $495/month. The kid came back in a week later telling all the Dennis guys he's raced everyone he's came upon and won and how much he loves the car...I'm sure we'll read about him in the paper soon...

That was wheel spin and a set of poorly made and highly unbalanced slicks, along with some other small issues that he has fixed.

100 on a residential street is nothing. Try doing 120 in a late model Z28 on streets in the city...and the driver had a few beers in him If seeing parked cars wizzing by just inches from your door don't scare you then blowing through stoplights and signs downtown at those speeds sure will.

no no, I am not bragging. I was at my friends house at a party and he wanted to take me out for a ride since he just got the car back from the body shop. No he didn't wreck it doing stupid stuff, he baught it wrecked to fix up and resell it. So I said 'sure' since he wasn't drunk and I figured it was just a ride around the block. It wasn't until we got 2 blocks from his house and we were doing 80 that I realized he wanted to have some fun with the car. Harry, always making smartass remarks, although this time the remark now seems pointless. Maybe if you didn't assume things you wouldn't post smartass comments. I never said I did it voluntarily, nor was I bragging. Just stating that 100 on a residential street doesn't seem as scary as what I went through. Oh well. Carry on.
