View Full Version : Evo clutch
sup fellas. My brothers stock evo clutch is toast. I was wondering what anyone has heard about and recomends. The one buschur sells looks rather dope but is extremely pricey. The dealership isnt covering the clutch under warranty and from what we have learned is that tons of evo's are coming in with less than 2k miles on them needing clutches. We got 8 k out of his but i guess it was not meant to be. THe extreme kits dont really tell me much. If anyone knows anything about what people are using, problems, ex. please please mention something or give me a link. Anything helps. Thanks a bunch. Long time no talk, Dustin (I want my vr4 back damn it)

If you get a Merkur XR4Ti, I know a few people that have an extra car or two, and I have a broke ass 2.3 Turbo engine.. Turbo Fords can be really good (GiS2).. :D

Dustin-
Get in touch with ACT. Road Race has been testing there single disk for a while now and I would suspect it should be available now/soon. Also, replace the rubber portion of the clutch line with the stainless set up (this is the latest "must do" on the EVO board).
Don't get some god-awful twin disk kit like everyone who has money falling out of there asses. Dirk at ACT has been working on his and says it'll run around $400.
If you guys do this yourselves, I want in on the action ;) I've got the manual on CD :booty Let me know if you need anything else.

IF you can bite the cost of the Exedy unit I definetely reccomend it. Personnally I wouldn't want to go with a unit that uses a lot of clamping pressure with the same style thrust bearing as a 2g. THe Exedy unit uses a light pressure plate with a ton of friction area and will hold more than enough power. It's quite friendly on the street also.
