Simple, Flow. At some point your exhaust can become a restriction, not a good thing on a turbo car. Turbine selection should provide all of the neccesary backpressure. Depending on what your goals are for the car, a 3" may or may not help you in hte long run.

I built the 3" because, as far as I know, no one offers one that can work with a regular "stock style" 3" downpipe. Granted with mine you have to wack off the 2.5" downpipe flange, but it will work with the rest of the unit. Some of my friends have seen 2-3/10 second gains just by switching to a 2.5" tubular unit, using 14b and 16g turbos. The same sort of principals would apply if you were stepping up to a larger turbo such as a Red or SCM61 by switching from a 2.5" to a 3" o2.

[sales pitch]I start protoyping the 2.5" tubular units tomorrow BTW. ;)[/sales pitch]

ok one more question but this regaurds the o2 sensor itself..since i dont have a cat, i have the bright ass yellow light screaming "check engine", i looked on vfaq for the rear o2 elliminator and it seems easy, but if i do this, do i need to put the sensor its self back into my exhaust or do i just do the wiring thing and put the sensor somewhere..so my question is, if i do the wiring thing, do i need ot put the sensor in my exhaust or not

Seems like every car is different. I wrapped my rear o2 in aluminum foil and zip tied it to the exhasut. Never got a CEL. A buddies car I just unplugged it, 3 months or so still no light. I've seen some throw them almost instantly.

With an o2 sim. you don't need to use the o2 you're simulating. However you'll have a nice open hole in the exhaust if you don't stick a plug in it.

I have my rear o2 in just as normal, no CE light for cat.

That's what I'm going to do next. I just don't feel like taking everything out of the way right now. :)
