check it out...lemme start from the beginning...i had a exhaust put on my car awhile ago and lastweek it broke at one of the flanges...perfect break. of course my car sounded like ass and for some reason i had no boost..i figured from no back pressure. so i get it welded and i get a little boost back. im still on a 14b but i have it cranked up to 19psi...so i discovered that my uicp is resting against my abs bracket causeing my blowoff tube to have a big hole cut into it where it attaches to my bov. so i cut the bracket and fixed the hole on the bov tube...i get 1psi out of it. so i get mad and take the uicp off and put back the factory piping, now i am up to 14psi...i go over the bay and plugged all my suspected vacumm leaks...now i am running about 8-9psi and when i get up to high rpms say around 5000-6000 my boost cuts and i get what sounds like someone poopin in a paper bag and i have to switch gears and let my turbo try again. i cant take the car even to 80mph yet and its driving me crazy. i have a supra fp and oem injectors but they are brand new. i have an afc and its supposedly tuned. i just bought this car from my friend lastweek and the night before i bought it we were hitting 19psi...the next day the exhaust broke and i have no boost. what gives? is my turbo clapped out? is this fuel problems? its killing me.....

Did you notice any oil in the piping? Either you've got a big boost leak or the turbo is the one pooping in the bag.

no oil anywhere...i had to lube the...nevermind im setting myself up for a hard fall....no oil. i have checked for boost leaks but i cant find any....this is going to drive me mad...

Jiggle and spin the turblow to see if it's still doing alright.

see if it moves in and out alot or up and down alot

just take the intake pipe off and use two fingers to wiggle the wheel and shaft a bit. It should hardly move side to side, and shouldn't move in and out at all. Also try spinning the wheel and see if it has any difficulty spinning.

its more painfull paying for the new turbo you have to get to replace it. ;)
for a 14b, its cheaper to just replace it than it is to rebuild it.

i have a few 14bs that might be in good condition so i was just going to change it and rebuild one to a 16g and then swap again. someone might have to help me on this one. ill can do all the work i jusy have n idea how to do it. people keep saying oh just remove the ex mani and then your o2 sensor then blah blah blah...thats all fine and dandy but how the hell do i get most of that crap off...so if anyone has nothing to do and they would like to assist ill compinsate(sp?) with some beer or something lemme know...does anyone know how to check for boost leaks? i think i got them all but i could be wrong...it happens from time to time.

God help you if anything breaks or snaps off. Then a relatively "quick" project turns into something of a teeth clencher.

ok i took off the intake tube and found that the rubber ring seal that is in between the turbo aand the intake has been sucked into the turbo. im missing about an inch worth of rubber around the ring. i checked the blades and they are fine and sharp and the turbine dosent move left to right or up and down. so it seems good. what does that mean and what should i do? i called dennis and they are out of stock on the rings so i ptu the ring back on and carefully put some electric tape to hold the thing on until the new comes on weds...and i will be at bw3 tonight @ 9...

dennis has nothing in stock and they are trying to tell me that i have to buy the whole intake tube to get the rubber ring...thay have those little printouts where you point and get the part but on both diagrams, one for turbo and one for intake, the rubber seal ring doesnt exist...is it suppost to be there? i had tried to take the ring off and tighten the intake tube via the screw clamp and i screw it all the way down and it still slides a bit...so i know i need the ring...but where the hell do i find it at? i checked international, advanced, pep boys and they all keep telling me to check the dealer...dennis wants me to buy the whole intake tube...damnit this sucks...
