With the mods I have now it's just a matter of time before my clutch takes a dump on me. There are quite a few out there to choose from but I don't want to break the bank. I'm looking at ACT or Clutchmaster right now. Clutchmaster has a decent deal and their lightweight flywheel is $383.00. I would be getting both clutch and flywhell combo. I know a few Evo owners on here have upgraded the clutch already, I think. Care to chime in?

You shouldn't have started out with a brand new $28K car.

If you want to be cheap, put in just an ACT pp and disk. If you are going to replace your flywheel you might as well go with the Exedy twin disk kit. Do it once, do it right. No use reverting back to old clutch technology.

I know of a couple people looking into custom twin disk setups like Scott Wegman's for reliability and assurance.

I'm not trying to cut corners on performance. There has to be clutches that are just as good for less the price. $1,500 for a clutch is a bit high, granted it does come with the flywheel, but no throwout bearing.

The Exedy clutch/flywheel is $1200 not $1500. Perhaps you're factoring in installation?

Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place for that clutch. :o :p

Exedy twin disk from Buschur. You will be amazed what a difference it makes. The clutch is great.

F-that... this old-schooler is staying old-school. RRE's "no name" clutch and the Fidanza flywheel. Everything including, shipped to your door for less than a grand.

exedy i would imagine would be a great choice -- but there aint nothin wrong w/ a good ol rps clutch -- u can go carbon-carbon but u will pay more for that or u can go w/ a sprung hub and one of their new flywheels and be all set :thumb

I'd never put an RPS Carbon/Carbon in my car unless you like dropping the tranny frequently. The C/C is not out yet for the Evo either.

Cusco, ATS and others have the carbon/carbon option available.
