Hi guys have question about air intake. I am bout to order a new air intake am undecided on which to buy but dont know if I can mention Name brands or not here. Have two in mind one is from a Tool source in Columbus the other is a Very well known name brand featured in many magazines just trying to figure out which one will give most air flow improvement. If any of you guys/girls have any feed back on this subject as to what has worked for you i would appreciate it thx.

You want a K&N style one that is circular, not oval.....you want it to be small enough that it gives you more room. I've seen some quite large oval-shaped ones. I got mine from www.extrememotorsports.com. It is the DIS filter. There are lots of knockoffs of these filters that are probably much cheaper and look exactly the same.

Thx for the headsup ok the two intakes are a 3" Dejon tools and an InJen IS series intake. the dejon intake doesnt come with a filter and cost 143.00 the injen comes with everything including the filter reg price is over 200.00 but nopi is selling it right now for 68.00 have seen same part # on at least 4 different web sites for as low as 186.00 and as high as 234.00 The dejon tools claims to increase air flow 170 % over stock intake pipe no air flow claims on the injen. Does anyone know any specifics on the injen model??? Dont mind spending the money for the dejon if its more efficient than the injen but if they are the same i can find alot of other things to spend the 70.00 difference.

Dejon intake piping is great. In fact, just about everything Dave makes is well worth it. Grab his pipe and get the plain old K&N open element filter with adapter for $75.

If you go dejon, make sure you get the pipe that fits your turbo.. You mention pretty stock, the 3" intake would be a bit large for the intake on your turbo. :)

According to dejon tools the 3" will fit stock t-25. Is a little larger than needed for the small t-25 but prevents havindg to upgrade intake twice. Planning on upgrading turbo in near future. Thinking about a big t-28 or a 20g. will discuss both of those at later time. Both of which will fit new 3" intake application. Thanks for your input.
P.S. I'm just going on what is said on dejon intake specs page for 3" intake. If any one else has tried this and knows it will or wont work please let me know.

I wouldnt even suggest such a thing. Youde have to put so many couplers on it to shrink it down to a t25 inlet, that your risk of intaking unmetered air is increased.
IMO, I would stick with the perfect size that fits the turbo you have. I wouldnt ghetto rig an intake pipe just so you didnt have to buy another down the road. You can always sell what you bought and get another.

You could do the 3" and just use a reducing coupler at the turbo. Not ideal, but would save money in the long run.

There is nothing definite planned yet
Typically, on weekends, the lot of us meet up at a large parking lot with other enthusiasts.
We may very well have a track day in the early warm months but that is all to be determined.

Hey jamie thx I will start trying to plan around Aug. found a southeastern DSM web site. However you guys are WAY ahead of them I will be trying to incorporate what I've learned here into the threads posted there. You Guys have Always had the right answers and in a hurry. If you guys would like to check it out it is http://www.dsm-horsepower.com The guys seem really young and somewhat inexperienced but they are at least trying. Once again Thx and hope to meet you Guys/Girls in August.
By then the 96 black spyder will have new paint, new exhaust, new intake, and hopefully new fuel pump and injectors. I will talk to you guys later C-Ya soon
