Everytime I leave a parking space or back out of my drive and turn the wheel i get this awful grinding sound from the right front... it does it more when i turn left, but still has the sound when i turn right... again this is only when moving at around 10mph or under... anyone have an idea of what it cud be?... we've looked for anything rubbing or scraping... but have found nothing.... let me know.... thanks...

It's your outer CV joint. Mine pretty much did the same thing. It will only get worse and one day it will seize while you are driving and you will probably wreck the car.

Instead of "trying" to install a new CV joint, I recommend just buying a whole driveshaft from www.raxles.com. You will have to drain the tranny fluid to pull the axle out. This would be a good time to put in some Redline or BG Synchroshift.

You need to mention that you heard about them on www.dsmtalk.com so you won't have to pay an upfront "core charge". When they send the package to you, it already comes pre-paid to send the old one back. They really like it when you immediately send the old one back.

I would recommend having someone else in the club listen to it to verify what is going on.

Yeah, I wud like to have someone take a look.... but I live a good 40 mins from Dublin.... so.... it's kinda hard to just head up... plus back tires are bald, no way can I drive in the rain... so... I might just park it... and buy me a daily driver.....

p.s.
this problem didnt happen until we put the new shocks in and everything.... cud it still be the same thing.....

also, cud this be apart of the recalls?... some other members brought this to my attention... didnt know if anyone has dealt with this or not... found this for the 98 repairs..
