While the geometry of the suspension will change, it does so at equal angles on each end of the axle. Actually, if you think about it, the axle is probably closer to being a straight line now than it had been with the stock springs. Because it's straighter, there would be less stress on the components involved. Kind of a weak argument, but may be enought to convice the paternal unit ;)

should this be in a diff section?

My respectful response to him would be that almost everyone on this board has aftermarket springs and shocks on their car and no one has had an axle problem like you. I think its something else.

my dad talked to someone who said that with the 2600 in the car and the car lowered the driveshaft is straighter therefore putting the stress on the shaft rather than on the cv joints like there suppose to be
does this make sense to anybody?

so what im gonna do is put a stock axle back on cause they are thicker right where the napa ones break and save up for some beefy ones...

next q does anybody know where to get beefier axle for cheaper than the 699 driveshaft shop axles?

thanks

I thought the NAPA rebuilt driveshafts were using stock shafts.

The general consensus that I have heard is that lowering a car puts more stress on the CV joints so they wear out prematurely.

www.raxles.com puts "brand new" CV joints on their rebuilds. I have yet to snap one of my Raxle rebuilt axles. My car is lowered and both outer CV joints went bad on my original driveshafts. I didn't snap my original ones either. Maybe I don't make as much HP as your car???

But then again, your car is an AWD, isn't it, and those axles are thinner than a FWD, so I would expect them to snap off easily.

my car is fwd and what they said is causeing it to break is the act 2600. and the napa axls are thinner than the orginals.

the napa axls are thinner than the orginals.

That's what's causing your problem :rolleyes
