alright. So a while ago I heard a noise that I had heard before and had heard being attributed to a bad pcv valve. Then it went away. Now my oil seems to be disappearing and not to the ground underneath where I park. Can the pcv valve let that much oil out if it is stuck open (about half a liter in 2 weeks)? And where is it, because I looked in el manual and I can't find it. (I was never very good at reading those pictures)

I fully plan on rebuilding this summer, so if it's one of the seals then I don't really care. What kind of damage is there from burning too much oil? My smoke isn't blue though. I don't know. That's all the things that I can think of that can happen to the oil. Unless anyone knows of anything else? I just want the car to keep running for another month (without being damaged) ntil I can take it apart.

Reading that again I meant 1 week. Half a liter in one week.

Could be many things. If your car is a turbo, it may be the turbo on its way out the door. Would be a reason for you NOT to notice any missing oil on on ground and such.

When I ROMP my car, I lose a lot of oil...sometimes in the form of a cloud behind my car. Last Sunday, I lost a whole quart of oil from a round trip to Newark, OH. My oil pan leaks pretty good and that is where most of th e oil is going (I hope). The weird part is that there is NO oil leaking from where the turbo oil drain line meets the oil pan.

Well if the PCV is stuck open it will dump oil into the turbo inlet pipe. The PCV is (if you dont already know) the small metal tube-like thing that sticks out of the valve cover. It is cheap and easy to replace. Extra oil in your chamber is never a good thing. Oil reduces the octane rating in your gas. It also fouls out your spark plugs and generally just causes a mess. I would check the second line running off the valve cover too. Check to see if excessive air is coming out or smoking at all. If it does then your rings are bad and you have blowby in the crankcase. This would cause your dipstick to blow out under boost if it got bad enough. Good luck.

Doesn't the PCV goes to the intake manifold? :confused

yeah...the PCV goes into the intake mannifold....the other breather line goes directly into the intake (before the turbo) on "stock" cars unless you have it going into a catch can like mine.
