They are probably playing their new stuff which I am not too excited about. I like the stuff they did in the 90's better.

The show is supposedly dominated with the 80s and 90s material. I'll expect to see you there Mike B.

I heard today on campus that it is close to sold out. You probably need to get a ticket Friday if so.

I like it all (except rap and country). I've seen T.S.O. , Bob Seger, Jeff Beck, Buckcherry, Hinder, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescense, ZZ Top, Velvet Revolver , and probably some other's that were at Rock on the Range. I do like modern versions of classical music though, like the versions of canon rock on youtube. Kind of on a buckcherry bandwagon now though, crazy bitch, lit up, everything,etc...

The whole show was actually filmed and aired on a live webcast via their website. Why they chose Columbus OH, I have no idea:P

Maybe The Newport is already wired with cameras and is already setup to do live webcasts and it is the artist's choice whether they want it aired or not.
This is the first weekend after fall quarter classes started at OSU. If they had it a week earlier, then it might not have been as many people going to it - campus would have been empty. Plus there is the hype of a home OSU football game that ran late into the evening...catch the game....then rock at the show.
They were saying on QFM96 this past week that the Newport/Agora is the longest continually running rock club in the whole United States now.

I've only been to the The Newport once...back in the 90's. I cannot remember who I saw. It was either King's X or Saraya. The place was a "dive" back then. It was really too disgusting and too hot in the summertime. I think they had A/C but it did not quite work that well.

I thought he liked Kylie Minogue...

I never saw a show at the Newport, but I believe it's been one of the oldest rock venues for a long time.
I believe Bogart's down in Cincinnati is up there as well, and it's a very similar venue. I know Bogart's hosted the Chili Peppers, U2, and a few other bands before they went big-time.

and I did like Kylie Minogue but only one of her CD's. Most of her stuff is just plain horrible dance crap.
