If you go to court: The first time you will just plead not guilty....do not waive your right to a speedy trial...if will only cause you more harm......if the cop doesn't show up on your next court date then they have the right to just reschedule you....most likely the prosecutor will not drop the ticket unless you can prove the officer incorrectly used the laser/radar.....trying to prove the gun is inaccurate is a far shot in the dark and will take more money than your worth, judges have to read reports on radar/laser guns quarterly which includes testing on accuracy....they only usually vary by like a mph or two.....that argument is worthless....one thing that would help you is if he got you with a radar gun and there was another car beside you you could argue that the officer wouldn't know which car the radar got....they are terribly inaccurate past thirty yards because the width of the radar just keeps spreading.....basically you would have to prove that the officer didn't use it correctly to get out of it....
If you have to take the driving class:
....the class will take off two points only if you have 8 or more....but it could save your butt in the future..its like 50 bucks....
Don't go for the speedy trial scam:
If the cop doesn't show your more than likely going to get it dropped b/c your not facing your accuser, which is your legal right...
About legal representation:
If you can get an attorney your chances of getting out of a ticket will triple....they won't think your some punk ass kid...if you go to OSU, you can have the law school rep you! cool huh...but you can't get a public defender for a speeding ticket...not even a wreckless op....so if you go to OSU have some law kid go with you...
Myths:
The myth that the cop has to show you the radar is totally untrue....its an urban legend...he doesn't have to
