Imma ask anyhow..
I was running way to rich w/ my Greddy BOV venting to atmos..
*I could smell gas and my a/f was reading half through the rich when i rev it and let off..*
I vented it back into the air intake section and seems to have calmed down some.. list of mods are as follows..
Apex-I FMIC
Air Intake Filter
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy Blow Off Valve
Greddy Hardpipe kit
Greddy Shift Knob
Turbo XS Dual Stage Boost controller
Boost Autometer Gauge
Air/Fuel Autometer Gauge
3" Downpipe
2.5"Cat Back Exhaust
Carbon Fiber Hood
Tein 1.3" Springs
18" ADR Veloce Rims 225/40
Is there anything i can do to keep from running to rich? w/o a fuel pressure reg?
Also I wanted to do the free mod.. taking the peice out of a vacum line but dunno where it is anyone have a pic?
Thanks
Also is it possible to be running like 16psi on low boost and almost 21 on high..
NOTE high boost backfires so i only run low boost

21 psi on a stock t-25 isnt good. after 16-17 heat starts to come into play.
im sure the 2g guys will chime in on this... i have a 2g here.. but i dont play with it enough... :thumb
a bigger turbo is always good...haha

You need a bigger turbo. :thumb
I kinda figured out after it backfired I better not push high boost.. lol
But what do i do about this running rich crap?
I mean i smell gas like its pooring out the exhaust..
I mean i got 250 miles out of a full tank of gas *this was to the fuel light*
I was boosting some.. I seem to be getting better mileage w/ the bov vent'd into the system but i have no sound now.. lol :bash

running rich isnt always a bad thing.. you have an afc?

You shouldn't be running that rich with a stock fuel system and a T25. Where do you smell the raw gas from? The tailpipe I hope? Do you know anyone with a 2g datalogger to find out where your fuel trims are? Like Sam said, an AFC would be a good thing to get next but I would get the problem fixed first. How many miles are on the car? Could be a clogged fuel filter, bad O2 sensor. Lots of things at this point.

An AFC doesn't really fix the venting to the atmosphere problem. The only way to fix that is a standalone, speed density setup(VPC), or a MAFT in "blowthrough" mode. He could also have a bad boost leak which would lead to a rich condition. How much vacuum does your boost gauge display at idle after the car is fully warmed up?

Im running a stock fuel pump and stock turbo :bash
Fuel comes from the tail pipe..
I know its good to run stoich / rich but on my autometer im running on the far side of rich in full boost like 2 bars left until it disappears..
I dont have a AFC or anything and not alot of money right now..
49,000 miles on it lifter ticking UGH!

Does the car buck or studder under boost at higher RPMs? You should not need an AFC at this point with a T25 and 16 PSI.

It shuttered when i would boost and let off until i vented into the system..
Seems all better now hit the gas it goes besides turbo lag!
Anyway to kill the turbo lag some? lol :cuss

you have a t-25... it doesnt get anymore "killed"

Without seeing anything I would guess that you either have a bad boost leak or your O2 sensor could be failing. You need to pressurize the intake and check for boost leaks and then get a datalogger on it to see whats up. You should still be getting really good fuel mileage with your mods. There are people up here that can help you out if you want. I'm in Grove City so not too far for you. If you ever want to come up let me know.

Yeah if you think your T25 is laggy then there may be some issues going on :D

Ill probably have to make my way up there and learn some stuff about this car...
I just took off moding it
Now im stuck until i get a bigger turbo and get this fuel problem taken care of.. :cuss

that is where it should be, 2 bars left of the highest LED is .90 volts for your o2 sensor ROUGHLY. on pump gas that's just about right, you can't make the assumption that your car is pig rich at WOT with this blinky gauge. venting your blow off valve with make it have a rich condition during shifting and is not helping anything
I'd say mike C is right with the leak though... a t25 should not expereince any turbo lag.. you're losing some air, somewhere
p.s. if you want to smell gas and oil ... drive around in my car

with a big exhaust, UIP, and a cone filter, I was spooling my T25 at like 1800 rpm. I don't call that laggy.
My Big16G doesn't spool until like 3,300 rpms.

The only thing I can think of besides a boost leak, is that it might take a "little" longer to compress the air in the fmic instead of a stock sidemount.
When you are in WOT, you should be almost all the way up there in fuel. Your ECU sees that the car is moving faster and faster and dumps in fuel to compensate for the increase in air.
Your car should run better with the bov not vented because you are not loosing any air counted air particles that the ECU thinks should be going back into the system. When you vent to atmosphere (VTA), the ECU thinks that all of that extra air is going to eventually come back into the intake and adds fuel accordingly. With it VTA, the fuel is still there, but the air isn't making a bad A/F ratio and the shuttering that you felt.
Hope that helps explain a few things for ya.

My assumption based on his posts was that he was still having the problem with the gas mileage after he rehooked the BOV to recirculate but maybe I'm reading it wrong. Good point about the FMIC though because the T25 probably can't keep up with the increased pressure drop so its lagging more. I bet he's still got bigger problems with a leak though if the lag is as bad as he's describing :confused

Gas mileage still crappy and the turbo doesnt start spolling until like 2800 rpms.. wth?
My buddy has one and when he shifts he still in boost mines got serious lag but when i pull im pulling a hella lot harder then him so im lost..

I think the Carbon Fiber hood and 18" rims mods may be severely contributing to your lag issues. It will be worth looking into..........

+1 :D
2800 is not bad. The FMIC is probably contributing to it because of the extra volume. 250 miles to the light isn't bad either.
The bad thing is the boost. High should be no more than 17 and low at whatever you want (probably like 14).
You do not have a fuel problem. You have a misunderstanding of your car. Stop spending money and do some homework. Once you understand where you are at and how your car performs, then you can progress from there.
