O.K I have been thinking of a new piece of equipment:wtf
I can use this unit for vehicle road issue diagnosis.
not to mention the average Dyno Day stuff or appointment renting of this.
I have been looking at the 2WD unit with\without Eddie brake?
wide band o2, obd2 diag, 4, 0-5 volt input logging, Optic rpm input, etc
it will do HP and 2000 ft.tq and 200 MPH
Anyway the reason I am posting this is the input from CDSM members on the amount of usage that people could get out of it
Obviously i would give a good discount to the members
Thoughts are 50$ 3 pull or something like that. Front wheels, Rear wheel, and Diesel trucks. as i have very good ventalation.
Any other ideas on making a little bit of money with it Greatly appreciated:thumb

well i understand the price thing but most of he people around run awd. if your looking to make money you should go with a awd setup rather then a 2wd. and maybe you don't want to make it a huge source of income i believe you can pay for it faster with the awd dyno. Just my 2Cents

Isn't there several shops around the area that already have one?? Maybe you should wait till one of the other shops go out of business so you can buy the dyno off of them for cheap. I've heard that has already been done at least once already.
With the way the economy is going and the cheap bastards in this club, I would recommend saving your money for a while.

These guys have a dyno: www.slowmotionmotorsports.com
They were over by the airport but they have moved to Sunbury, OH which is a little north of Westerville.
These guys have a dyno: www.ipsmotorsports.net. They are located at 1740 D. Harmon Ave. in Columbus, OH (I think they are near I-71 and 104)

IPS has an AWD Dynojet. Slowmotion has an AWD Dynapack. They are two different types of machines.
Honestly, investing in a 2wd dyno seems like a waste to me unless you're getting a SMOKING deal on it. You're going to get virtually no DSM/EVO/Suburu business because of the center diff and all of the bigger 2wd people in town are comfortable with Brian or IPS. The "other" imports are going to use IPS or Slowmo.
Just take your car to IPS when you need to "toon" it you weenie!

phil i still know that guy with the dyno for sale, I talked with you earlier about it... I know alot of guys with diesels who would love to be able to dyno there trucks. Our biggest problem is making a 500 dollar exhaust to bolt onto our trucks when we dyno to get the smoke out. I f you have good ventailation and its not a problem it could make you good money..... let me know.

Hmmmm....very interesting. I've had nothing but great things to say about them. I had no idea they even moved and Corey and Wyan (sp?) called me up, told me that they are in Sunbury now and invited me up. They walked me through the shop (mind you, twice as big and MUCH nicer than their previous set-up), thanked me for coming in and they have always taken care of me. Guess you can't say the same, but then again, not everyone can be satisfied.
I wouldn't say that shops are going out of business. Business might be slow but just like everything else, this type of industry will bounce back too.
I would also agree with going with an AWD Dyno. 2WD has its limits but then again, is cheaper. Hmmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions.....

Gotcha. Well, I would say that if you want anything done, go straight to Corey (owner). He's got great business ethic and continuously tries to help customers out. He's a good guy.

It's going to take a lot of "business out the ass" to pay for a dyno. You guys do know what these things go for right?

theres a mobile chassis dyno for sale for 17k. most range from 20-35k

better then waiting till the summer to tune on the track(for phil).
you make all those passes just to get it dialed in which is extra wear on the engine that isnt needed and saves alot of time that could be invested into racing.
