View Full Version : Car Broken into... Again

So lets recall last time I had it bolted in and secured beyond the norm. The criminal got frustrated, stole the face, and stabbed the player in such a way that the cd player no longer worked.

Since then, its pretty much just dangling there.

Im pretty sure when I went back into my car last night to get my phone, I left my passenger door open. Someone thought that they should teach me not to do that and took that bling bling [looking] panasonic head unit. When I climbed in and saw it I barely mustered a shurg for my missing eye sore. Also taken: A pair of shorts and my swoosh back pack. Retail value on the streets: 15 total. Im crushed.

They looked through pretty much everything. My console was open, my hatch was ajar...

Things NOT stollen:
-1 Craftsman Cutting tool
-1 Safc
-3 Gauges
-The BRAND NEW JVC head unit I had fully visible in my trunk
-My wallet which they definitely could see. (No cash inside)

I have a feeling it was a definite amature, maybe even a drunken fratboy who used my backpack to conceal the goods.

Either way I dont feel half as violated as I did last time.

That's pretty bad when something like that happens and you don't feel violated!

could have been worse though

thats the apathy that evolves from living on campus for 5 years.

Same thing happened when my car was broken into at my apartment. Nothing was taken, but I might have caught them before they had a chance to grab anything. wtf :finger

yea its wierd like that. i thinkwhen they see something they have their mind set.
When my car got broken into they moved a entire tool set and a 90$ drill i had sitting on top of my sub box i also had 2 cell phones sitting on top they moved it all out of the way to get my speakers.
i know in somonee elses car i know they unscrewed a gauge of his to pull the radio out and left the gauge sitting

I don't think there's a real street value for gauges. Most people who are stealing this stuff wouldn't know what to do with it, I don't think. Now, cell phones and wallets, that a different story. :) AFC's are pretty, look like cd changer controllers.

Mike Black will chime in...
"I don't feel sympathy for you. Whenever I parked on campus i made sure nothing was in plain veiw and worth stealing."

Besides the fact that my car was a mere 6 inches in front of yours and i'm worried, i agree. I've warned you about your dangling, half attached headunit many a times. It looks bling, just like my ~$50 audiovox prestige cd player did that got stolen some 2.5 years ago.

"BLoCK party" --- any coincidence??

Yeah, I got invited to a party on campus tonight, but was told it wasn't a good idea. Said something about a "black out"... WTF is that??

MrBlunt
05-02-2004, 01:03 AM
a semi-racist comment referring to the number of darker skinned folks that would be attending the event. like saying your were at the Dr Dre concert and it was very.....dark ...there

whatever. Did you know that crime is actually lower during the "white flight" aka "black out" aka The Heritage Festival?

On top of that, this was the least attended fest in the last decade because the osu has made a conscious effort to make it as inconvenient as possible for those who attend. It used to be on the weekend which many schools are on spring break. For the last three years they have been switching it around, delaying date announcements, and this year, moved it to a date inconvenient for most out of staters.

I hate racists.

The only problem with the event....like any big event, regardless of race...is that it only takes a few people to ruin it for everyone else and to give it a bad name.

i have never once felt scared going through campus during the heritage fest...its not like that they are going asround chanting kill whitey...thats retarded. if anything most ppl attending are pretty cool...they will the first to say whats up...dunno columbus is not a scary place at all...now detroit, thats a different story.

I'm the same way. Columbus isn't that bad. Detroit, yes, very true. Hell, try Cincinnati. I have yet to live through any race riots in Columbus. :) It was fun being told that I had to go straight home from work, and wasn't allowed to leave my house until the next morning. Believe me, I wasn't about to head down to Over The Rhine.

Yeah some of my family is dark skinned because of my dominant Cajun (Acadian) Genes.

You won't see race riots in Columbus. There is just too much apathy here. It takes too much energy and hate to have a riot. There is something about this city that sucks the life out of everyone. The only rioting you ever see is drunken OSU street parties that get out of hand.
