How do you get the spring off of the shock it the front? Ive got it all disasebled and spring pressure released but I cant figure out how to get the spring off.

you have to drop the whole shock after you compress the spring.

the shock is out of the car, the spring was decompressed, and the top plate and nut was removed, but i cant get the spring off of the shock (there is a little black cap, looks like it might be screwed on holding the spring onto the shock)

if you removed the nut from the actual shock itself there is nothing else holding it in...there are like 4 or 5 pieces that will fall so dont loose track of them, try standing on the top hub w/ just your weight on it and pulling up..or take a little hammer and tap it off...shouldnt be to hard...where do you live..maybe i could comeby sometime and help ya

He might be talking about the bumpstop that is stuck to the top of the shock. The bumpstop is integrated into the dust cover. It's not screwed in just pull it out. There is like a protruding ring near the top of the shaft of the shock that it might be caught on.

Let's hope that the shaft dust cover is not rust welded to the shock shaft.

I think thats what happened, I took it up to Roby and had a mechanic use that tool thats kinda like a jack hammer and it got em all loose after about 10 minutes. Thanks anyways tho fellas
