ok my car ahs killed 4 batteries in less then 5 months. i had the damn battery and alt checked out at advanced last week and yesterday the battery is dead when i tried to have it charged.any one know why this is i can fugure it out if they were fine. this has happened every time. well the alt was only puting out like 58 cranking amps when its suppose to be 65 do u think this could be my problem. the times before this it was 65 cca. i was even unhooking my battery at night because it would go dead if i left it hooked up. anyone have any idea what my problem is thanx

It could be the alternator, but sounds like you may have a short or something drawing excess current. Time to bust out the multimeter ;)

ok i went out side to look the battery and other things and i have oil all over my tranny and every thingit looks like it came from the head but if i has a blown head gasket my car shouldnt start or run right.
and more on the battery problem. well some time when i was driving all the dash lights would come on and i would give it some gas and then they would go off and the car would come back to life and keep going thats very odd to me. im getting feed up with all the stuff going wrong with this car. but i love the power in the car. i planed on getting an alt next week to see if that is the problem

as for the battery i had the same problem but somehow it fixed itself after replacing the battery 6 times :o
did you get the alternator checked while it was OFF the car?

I'll bet you $1 that the oil you're seeing is coming from a crispy valve cover gasket.

check the 80amp fuse under the hood for the ALT. if it dont look bad replace it anyway...
the voltage regulator inside the alt is going bad too... so you'll need to replace that...
