I just got my gsx about 4 months ago, and i was wondering if its better to get rid of the air box and put diff filter on it, or to cut the air box, or flip it... i know that the turbo and BOV isn't stock, but not much more then stock, its newer then the car, and i have apexi 3in down pipe exhaust with no cat..(duh)
what should i do about a boost controller, because i know that i have let my car sit for a little while to cool it down a bit, but its probably not long enough to keep it in the best condition possible.

get a replacement...one that replaces the airbox.
your boost controller has nothing to do with the car sitting...to let it run you would need a turbo timer....that, or just let it sit a few minutes and spend your 80 bucks on something else ...like an air filter

greddy turbo timer for 99 dollars, harness is about 10, go get a k&n fipk from jeggs, and get a manual boost controller, thats your cheapest route

The only point of a turbo timer is to keep the car running after you shut it off? or is there anything else it does, i doubt it b/c i've never heard of HKS selling anything besides an oil cap for the cheap. -ryan

it preserves your turbo.

there are plenty of tt's on the market now that do other things than just let it run...the apex'i one works as a turbo timer , a/f guage...my blitz has a temp guage, volt meter, lap timer....just do some research and see which is best for you...just depends on how many bells and whistles you want...and the turbo timer allows your hot engine to cool down even more, prevents coking the turbo.....

Don't know your money situation and if you plan on doing all these things at once...just a thought-if you wanted to do little by little (because things add up) One thing I could save you money on at the moment is the flipped air box. I ran my car like that for about 8 months before getting the regular K&N...flipping the air box is easy, doesn't cost anything and if you need a K&N filter for that flipped air box...I still have my old one.
It open so it still helps the air flow, sounds good and it's still a K&N...just a thought...get a hold of me if you're interested
