Ok I went to put in a cd player someone gave me, Had the wire harness from cicuit city, everything going fine and I go to start the car and all I get is a ticking sound and now the cd player wont do anything but flash. I have installed these things a million times along with alarms so I have already checked all the basic stuff. Now what gets me the most is that the stock headunit will not work now, checked all fuses and all are good. I noticed that there are like two antenna wires goin into stock unit along with two plugs that resemble disc changers. If anyone has any ideas as to what could be goin on, please lemme know

Was the Headunit cage fully bolted to the car, meaning all four screws put in? I know that was my malfunction when the stock headunit would not turn on when I was toying with it this past weekend.
The stock headunit grounds to the chassis via the mounting cage so there is no ground wire. I've never installed an aftermarket in a 2g, but maybe try running the ground wire to a bolt on stock metal mounting cage the headunit mounts to.
I did experience a similar delimma in my Hyundai, which used a small ground wire with a grounding strap. I could not really use the grounding strap effectively, so I just ran my own ground and everything was peachy.

All grounding is taken care off, everything is hooked up correctly. It seems that something may shorted somewhere or I have possibly loosened a connection I shouldnt have. I am gonna play with it some more tonight so Ill see what i can find

other then the fact that the head unit is junk and I knocked an ecu plug loose when rerouting some stuff it wasnt anything major. The headunit has a short in it somewhere that I dont care to take the time to look for considering it only works when it decides to and does some weird stuff to the car when hooked up. So i just tore it out and I am lookin for one now.
