Well after looking long and hard I have found my baby, the thing is I am not going to let anyone know what evil plan's that have been going on in my head the last couple day's but all I am going to say is it does involve a awd dsm, and let's just say what I am going to do has not ever been done before from any DSM builder in history! Also a sertan A/T record will fall by the end of the summer I can promice you that :thumb
I will keep you all informed of it's progress, all 1100cfm of pure excitement :p

um.......sorry brian. it's a very nice MANUAL. mine is a 2 speed. most people set them up with air shifters or electronic cylenoids. "shiftnoids" jeff :thumb and they are shifted using an rpm chip. VERY durable, used for many years and have become pretty much the strongest, gear driven tranny around. our straight cut gears will handle 2000hp GUARANTEED. :beer , btw, it kinda is an auto because it uses a flexplate and a transbrake, it's a mix.

Powerglides were, are and always will be automatic trannies. They are a 2 speed (all PG's are 2speeds) automatic that is derived from some of the earliest of Chevrolet automatic vehicles. It is a poplular racing tranny because of the simplicity, and strength that can be built into them. I don't care if you shift it yourself, let it do the shifting, or allow electronics and solenoids do the work, the Powerglide is an automatic trans. Yes, a properly built one will handle a ton of power. A good friend has one behind a 632ci nitrous motor in a 2600lb car running 6.90's@200mph. They've gone a lot faster than that. But, nonetheless, it's an automatic. The fact that it uses band clutches, a valve body, and a planetary with 2 drive gears dictates that by definition that it is an automatic tranny. This goes without saying that there is a torque converter in front of it and not a clutch.

yeah, come on Drew. You should know the powerglides are automatic. You can take any automatic and shift when you want.
And if you're confused, this is one type of solenoid Drew is talking about, made by Shifnoid:
