for some reason when i push the clutch pedal in it wont come back out....we bleed the line maybe it just needs it more

Hmmmmm.......shouldn't need to bleed the line. Did you completely remove the slave cyl. from the line or just take it off of the tranny? Did you lube the TOB well? Perhaps the pressure of the new clutch has put some other "preexisting issue" into perspective?

purhapse you shoulda waited till you got a motor in that DIDNT have crankwalk and overheats on you all the time ;)

The TOB is greased up good..

I don't think that cranky thingy will stay too still with 2100 lbs of pressure on it.. :rolleyes The good news was that when someone pushed on the crank, it didn't move.

You need to smack the flywheel with a hammer and then pull it back out with a screw driver and listen for the clink clink sounds.

Wasnt his measured by Mike Black?

koritina

Negative. It was measured with a caliper, and measured the "easy" way. Where you don't take the wheel off, etc.

We considered calling Mike B. the first night, but figured you guys were busy with Ken's car.

Even if he doesnt need a motor.. he still needs a headgasket hehe.

lipps...I dont know either of you pesonally but ive seen in several threads that when he asks for help on his car you do nothing but bust his chops and tell him how he is going about everything wrong. Is that the purpose for you on this forum? "to prove yourself high and mighty before lending a hand?" idunno if HE is getting tired of hearing it but I sure am and it isn't even directed towards me.
:bash

You dont understand some of the personal bonds some people have.

Marc knows I bust his chops about the motor... But im actually the one who told him ide dedicate time to help him do the swap... and am the one finding him the motor.

No harm.

Me high and mighty? Hardly!

6 bolt is a good idea but im puzzled by the problem and i hope i don't come across this problem when i do my clutch during the winter

I hope I don't run into this problem when I replace my clutch sometime soon, but it's a 1g, so the tranny will be easy, compared to the bs Marc's tranny took to get in.

I wouldn't think it's setup inside wrong. The TO bearing was greased good, and the pp and clutch were lined up good. Maybe we need to swap the slave cylinder to check and see if it's good.

Did you check the slave cylinder rod like I asked?

koritina
11-26-2003, 12:11 AM

dsmarc
11-26-2003, 12:44 AM
yea we will eventually check that or i will try to just that my car is about 30 min from here and im super busy w/ work

Gunner

Did you keep the slave attached to the line, and just remove it from the tranny like you're supposed to do, or did you detach the slave from the line which is useless?

koritina
11-26-2003, 01:45 AM
We left the slave attached to the line.

neco

Yeah, and we bled it too. Some bubbles came out. After that the peddle would go back up on it's own for about 2 times. Then we started the car again. But after that, it stayed down after pushing it in. We gave up for the night at that point.

and the fluid level did what during this?

GSXLR8
11-26-2003, 11:43 AM
if there is no fluid leaking out of the slave, check inside the cabin on the master...when a master cylinder went bad on me, it leaked a bunch of fluid right into the car.

you know... its hard on guy's like me to sit here and listen to this nonsence...to be blunt, WTF did you do the clutch for first? that was mistake #1. Mistake #2 is because its CW BEFORE you put 2100lbs to the Flywheel. Mistake #3 the 2100lbs of I just mentioned isnt on a 6Bolt Flywheel. You'll know mistake #4 once you pull the tranny out again. :rolleyes

I hope whoever was pushing the clutch in didnt press the pedal all all the way to the floor when they were bleeding it, and hopefully, just hopefully.. you guy's didnt open the screw on the slave all the way and there's a really small clear hose laying next to it. :confused

Ive said what I had to say, you guy's have fun now.

BTW if you need anymore help.. give me a call.

especially when upgrading to a heaver clutch many o-rings that are "about" shot will fail instantly with the added pedal pressure from the bigger clutch...

i think we should try replacing the slave cyl. or checkin to see if the rod is bent like ken said. we're not getting anything done with it just sitting in front of alex's house. I say we get a uhaul and tow it back to your house marc so we dont have to drive so far to do this shit.

dsmarc
11-30-2003, 11:42 PM
either way we have to drive there....but yea i work everyday this week ill get back to you

koritina

dsmarc
11-30-2003, 11:55 PM
