EGT probe placement

I asked this before on the old site but I'm gonna ask again. I've heard many different palces to install the EGT probe but I need to know the correct placement. Where I know I will get accurate readings.

Correct, runner number one--closest to the timing belt/passenger side. I saw a pretty smooth install where they had it tapped at the bolt that holds the heat shield in place.

Ah yes, I see where they did that. They are long so I wonder if the probe will reach. Have you taken your heat sheild off yet to see how long the threaded hole is? Pretty long.

Nope, I haven't looked yet. I'm sure it's nothing a little carbide bit couldn't take care of ;)
