OK i have a problem with the engine in my 92 TSI AWD Talon. I just bought it off a guy for $400. He said the starter was bad but for that little cash i didnt cars if the whole engine was out! i'll put some pic's on here later....but anyways, everytime i try and start it (the starter is fine) it wont. Those little wholes where the spark plugs are, are about 1/2 full of oil. And right after i clean the pluges off the just get fouled again. I really don't want to buy a new engine enless no one on this board can think of something i can try. So does anyone have any ideas? :( :bash I checked the compresion too....1st:130, 2nd:60, 3rd:70, 4th:170......Is that a normal compresion? Please any help would be great, and if you have an engine for sale let me know too. Thanks very much everyone....
Please email me instead of posting for a few days because at home i cant get on this site, but hotmail works?!?!

Your compression levels are way beyond low.

You could have a blown HG or some ring issues.

Try filling each cycl with a cap full of oil and letting it sit for 15mins or so to seap by your rings and such. Try testing the comp. again and let us know the results.

Does your coolant have oil in it? Does your oil have coolant in it?

Thanks for the tip biglipps. I tried the oil in the cycl twice, didn't work :( So then i drained all the oil out(which is brand new) and it has no coolant in it. I also drained and flushed my radiator and theres no oil in that ither.......But yeah it was a good idea, when i checked the compresion again it was this: 1st:142, 2nd:65, 3rd:80-85, 4th:175.......So anyone have any other ideas? Everytime i trie and start her back up after cleaning the plugs back off they get soaked again. So i have zero oil in it right now....not sure if i should put it back in or not....anyway i'll be on here till about 5:30 today so any help just post....Thanks much biglipps! :thumb

to me it sounds like rings

no oil in coolant and no coolant in oil, almost rules out bad headgasket

compresion going up in #3 cyl when you added oil makes me leans towards rings

So if it's rings that means i have to rebuild the engine......i hate rebuilding 2.0's! LOL Well does anyone have any other ides before i go and trash my garage again?? Thanks for the info guys

Could also be cracked ring lands. Hard to say unless you run a leak down test and see where the air goes.
