Silver Supra & Blue RX-7

I was comin home from class tonight and ran across a very nice lookin supra. I seen the blue a pillar guages and an exhaust so I thought what the hell. The guy was tryin to say something to me but couldnt hear him. Anyway ended up slowin to like 55 and I wanted to go even but I heard him hit, I dunno if he was tryin or not or if it was even a turbo cause i couldnt hear shit after the EXT. opened up. Anyway I pulled him hard as hell but again dunno if he was even tryin. I tried to get beside him to talk for a min but he wouldnt even look over. Just wondering if anyone knows who it is.

Ran into a blue rx-7 on way back from class today right before sawmill on 270 headin towards 315. He was beside me and started to take off so I dropped to 3rd and pulled him like no other half way through 4th. Car was badgeless and all I could see was his exhaust. I need to start stopping these people to see if it is something worthy or not.

Most likely both of those cars were putting down over 400hp. It takes next to nothing to put down 450 in a supra. Hua's car put down (i think) 425 w/ his sidemount and just BPU (intake, exhaust, dp) Same way w/ the rx-7 as well. So i don't know if you are putting that down-- but I don't think you woulda rocked them too hard unless the cars were beat.

the only blue rx7 i know of is a guy by the name of steve -- and trust me jarod, not takin anything away from your car, but if he was running the way he could be, he would eat your car alive, along w/ a lot of cars on here -- at least from a roll -- he has a bridgeport pineapple race engine w/ a hks t51r turbo -- its not my turbo choice for that car but im sure it would be hell once it spooled

Putting down over 400 in an RX7 is not nearly as easy, or cheap, as a Supra.

The rx-7 had no bodykit and in no way looked or sounded as if it was puttin down 400hp, and he instigated the run so I see no reason as to why he would be holdin half throttle. I know the capabilities of these cars, thats the reason I stated what I did previously. I dont know if they were turbo and if they were what mods they had.

I mean from my descriptions it in no way suggests these are highly modded in any way. I have seen several turbo supra and rx-7 here in columbus that are nearly stock.

Supra's are sleds so it does take 400+ to get them to move, I personally in my 5 years of racing at NTR now I have never witnessed a Supra or RX-7 run any better than a 12.00, many probably should of as Ive seen some hella built supra's out there but they seemed cursed to breaking things....maybe a supra is a DSM too :rolleyes. Wasn't Howard on stock turdbo's? And on a vid on our site my friend ran a 11.3 @137 on his supra on street tires.

And I was just pointing out that I didnt know what they had but for me to pull on either of them the way I did they were nearly stock or for some reason didnt want to smoke the shit outta me but they both did play. Didnt intend on a debate on how easily they can be modded----I Know--- I've wanted one since I was 12. My main point was to see if anyone knew them.

There obviously gonna need more then an exhaust, and if you would pay any bit of attention to this post you would have discovered that my intentions is not on discussing what it takes to make what power-----I know this. SO once again for those that dont comprehend I was simply curious to see if anyone knew them.

The one ingredient that is getting overlooked is race gas. All the local "bpu" guys at the time (Hua/Mark/Howard) all put down 400ish on race gas and around 18psi with a reset ecu. Without good gas most of the bpu cars would typically be in the 380whp range.

I raced Howards supra at close to bpu levels in the laser MULTIPLE times from a roll and i was ahead every time until he got out of it around 120ish. I raced Marks bpu supra MULTIPE times in the laser the day i dynoed 308 and he pulled *maybe* a car all the way up to 140+ each time. When i got the go i held him off the whole way :thumb until she gave up the ghost :(

In regards to the NTR comment, it's a little hard to run a quick time when you have to let out of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear all in the same pass because of traction issues.

There are two new Alpine Silver Supra owners sin the area. One is on stock twins, located in Gahanna. The other is running an SP61 single turbo, he is here in Westerville. The singled car was having boosting issues for quite some time, only able to run 9psi. It's fixed now though, as of Monday.

There is one more kid with a silver Supra (MKIV) that has a spray painted body kit. He has an auto. Don't know squat about his car other than it being a bucket.

What is it with new people and jumping straight to the war stories ? I am very aware of traction issues, FWD, Dan Toops has me on video spinning at the track on drag radials thru third gear. I was not trying to insult supra's, I am simply saying that stock they are heavy and therefore need 400+ to be realitivly quick IMO. Please head to the newbie section and post a little about yourself before announicing I will race you blah blah blah. I will race anybody for fun. Friday NTR I am probably going to be smoked by a certain silver hatch on this forum..its all good as long as nobody ends up breaking something.
