Went to NTR for braket racing. I got to the end where it was myself and just 2 other cars. One got the by run and i faced off against a fiero. Fiero got the 4 second headstart. The light flashes 3rd yellow and i go. Nice launch shift to 2nd and gas, redline w/o going any faster. I get off the gas and step back on, same thing. Coast to the end with a slipping act2100. Best time was a 13.30 @ 101. There was a black evo and a quantum tuned wrx running mid to low 13's also.

i got beat up by a fiero a couple times last year bracket racing. If it's the same guy, he cuts the tree down like a lumberjack and has his car dailed in within .0xx almost.

The race between us wasn't even close. I was about halfway down the track when he crossed the finish. It was a sad, sad day.

This begs a new question. 2600 or 2900? I have a 6 bolt engine going in and as far as i understand the clutch is the same for 1g or 2g. It is only the flywheel that is different. I am thinking of ordering a 6 bolt clutch package that comes w/ 6 bolt xact flywheel and 2600 or 2900 clutch.

2600 would be find for your needs. You want to keep your tranny in tact, dont you?

i'd keep your current flywheel. 2600 will give your plenty of grip but its got mad pressure for daily driving. if your not worried about that then you should be ok

the 2600 takes about a day to get accustomed to. girly man

does it slip during normal driving or if you're in 4th gear coasting and just get on it? because you might have just glazed the clutch so bad from the start, that it didnt' want to grab for 2nd or the rest of the way down the track.

This was the case when i put my 2600 in after i noticed my clutch slipping on the top end of the track. I pulled out 1 mint ass 2100 pp and disk and ended up selling it. after the time i took to drop the tranny, it was not going back in

I cannot reuse the flywheel as it will be a 6-bolt engine that is going in sometime. Unless you mean get another fidanza for the 6-bolt. The clutch doesn't slip during normal driving, it only slipped on the 1-2 shift. I haven't tried to launch hard since then so it may have just glazed. I was under the impression that when a clutch was "glazed" it was no longer good. The last run was right after another run so it may have just been too hot.

insert shamless plug:
i got eliminated by a cavalier.
i broke out by 1tenth
since then i usually break out all the damn time (more mods and cant compensate for more mods, chaning temp, i just run faster each track day). i suck at braket racing

i think glazing still can be used. u just have to let it cool and get it to grip.

If you think you've glazed your clutch. Start the car and at idle slowly let out the clutch with the e-brake on untill the car dies. Only do this 1 or 2 times. This rubs of the glaze and let the friction material grip again. This only work with organic clutches......
