11:45 last night on 270 last night coming home from work doing a bit of butt tuning in fifth gear on 20 psi just running from about 60-75. I'm just fooling with the safc a bit and a pewter 99+ ram air ta comes flying by, car definitely has exhaust. He then slows down to my speed (around 60 mph) i toss the car into fourth he drops it down a gear (6spd manual) he honks 3 times and we're off... i'm into my 20 psi almost instantly and i just start pulling like no tomorrow, shift into fifth at redline and pull a little more... poor trans am was about 1.5 buslengths back. I couldn't believe how hard he bit the dust. I then slowed down but he stayed behind me and got off at the next exit. I'm sure it was pretty close to stock so i'm definitely lookin foward to a run in with a hci car or even an sc'd ls1... those can be reaal mean.

i forget which turbo he/you was/are running.

I raced dales ls1 with different results. Granted My ECU was way out of whack but even at full charge I think I would have only been even (We'll find out this weekend dale ;))

They trap at about 105-110 stock so your car must be pulling...

110 trappers are rare, but there are a few, and the ls1 does take very well to mods.

waiting for dale to chime in... he's a good sport and likes running DSM's

330 rwhp/ 335 ft/lbs of torque
with just a lid, i'd say that's pretty sweet

whatever he has, as long as its not an official power adder (other than heads and cam) i'll run him. I'm pretty confidant that my car has more than 330 hp to the wheels.

What's up guys?

My car dyno'd at 328.5hp and 335 lb/ft. with only a lid and a couple free mods. I have a loudmouth cat-back on there now and it "should" put down around 335hp according to most of the LS1 guys that know better than I. I don't have an actual dyno of it in it's current state, so it's really speculation at this point. I know it won't be less than 328 lol!

110MPH trappers are actually pretty common to the 6 speed cars with lid and cat-back. The 6 speeds usually run 105-107 when stock with the autos falling somewhere between 103-105 in most cases.

The driver gasket is the problem with my car. I've had it to the track 2 times since I've owned it. My best time is 13.3@107 on a 2.2 60ft. I was bogging on launch and would smack the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd. The stock tach is very slow in these cars.

2.0 60ft.s are very attainable on street tires with the proper driving. **WARNING BENCH RACING AHEAD** 12.70's-12.80's @ 110 should be attainable with a little more driving practice along with learning where to shift for optimal performance with the slow tach. The car definately is putting down the HP to turn those numbers.

I'm down with running whoever. I don't care if I win or lose. I like to compare. Ask MIKE about this. ;) I couldn't of been happier to get beat by him when we ran. I was pleasantly surprised at how well my car kept with his in it's 113mph or 114mph (can't remember what it trapped for sure, but around that) state of tune (read leaking intake manny) at that time. For the curious, most of the races he had a 1 car lead with his best lead being roughly 1.5 cars.

Turbomark, I'm sure you would take me if you're putting down 330hp. My car has a 3680lb. race weight. I'm positive your car doesn't weigh that much unless your toting around cement ballasts.

Also, a heads/cam LS1 run anywhere from mid 10's to high 11's depending on setup. Sure, you have your bad drivers and cars that aren't tuned but those numbers are the norm. I think you might have your hands full with a full bolt on car.

Have fun and be safe.

Dale

I personally havent had the car at the track yet, but previous owner ran an 11.95, without nitrous, on race gas and 24 or so psi. I need to get some practice really launching the t hing at the track first before i actually race anybody.
