The only difference between the 2G Illuminas and Blues rear struts for FWD's and AWD's is 10mm. (I just spoke with a sales representative from Tokico.) The AWD spring seat and body length are 10mm taller than on the FWD strut. Also, the pistons are 10mm longer but the stroke or travel is the same. So, for those of you who are thinking of lowering your AWD with coilovers by going with FWD struts you will gain an extra 10mm of travel before you would bottom out. The dampening rates are the same. This is only for Rear struts the fronts are the same. If you raise your car to or above stock height you will lose 10mm before full extension on the strut.

But if you are getting coilovers more than likely you're getting them to lower the car to begin with. This is actual info from the specs sheet from Tokico.
