do 6x9's fit in the back panels of eclipse/talons, without any cutting. I know i can get 5X7's in, but i was wondering if the 6x9's would fit perfectly?

my 2g came stock with 6x9s but your big problem with putting aftermarket ones in may be that the larger magnet on many of them will hit the back panel and you will not be able to get them in flush.

I agree. I had infinity 6x9's in my car and bought after market...we had to take a hammer and bang it up a little behind there to get them to fit

Thats my main concern, is that the magnet will be to big.

Yeah, I didn't have the infinity system in my 2g, but it came with 6x9's stock. The best set that FIT that I've found are the Alpine SPS series from last year. I know Crutchfield had them for a while, and at a $70 price too. They sound great. If you could find a set of those, you'd save yourself the hassle of trying to fit a larger magnet in there.

well i just installed my new 6x9's. They are polk audio 6x9's db690 3 ways. They fit in perfectly and they sound like a champ. I recommend these speakers for any dsm owner.
