Could be valve guides too. Watch the oil. see if it starts running low or if collant appears in it.

Pour a cap full of oil down the spark plug well and redo the test. If the compression comes up, then it is most likely the ring.

I havent done the oil deal to see if I have an unseating ring.

You guys need to scrap this oil in the spark plug hole junk, and find a compressor and do some leak tests.
