I can now say, I am the proud owner of two DSMs that don't run. I finally located and picked up my 1g, 1990 Talon TSi AWD, with a bad motor -- balance shaft belt victim. The body and interior are pretty good (being 14 yrs and all). The car is stock, and appears never to have been modified.
On the flip, while driving my 2g Talon the tranny decided to died. Thankfully, the car died near my house (leaving a nice long trail of tranny fluid marking my way), so I did not need a tow. However, the tranny housing on the passenger side is cracked. I am anticipating massive carnage. Furthermore, when pushing the car the tranny intermittantly grabs and makes are sorts of fun noises.
The part that disappoints me, is that the 2g was going to be sold to make way for progress on the 1g. So, now its back to the drawing board.
But, I am happy, I got my 1g and get to learn the wonders of redoing a tranny.
