I'm pretty sure they have some kind of pre-req for you to get to sing in front of Randy, Paula, etc.
They do. My fiance's cousin's wife tried out for this years American Idol in Las Vegas when she was there on vacation. She got to sing in front of 4 people in a little tent in front of the building. If they think your good for the show, they send you inside the building. I know they send the horrible ones to Randy, Simon and Paula for ratings. Thats the only reason I watch American Idol, to see how horrible these people sing when they think they sound really good, and to see the dumbasses break-dance and make funny noises and expect to be sent on to be a good singer...lol I only care about the first couple weeks and the final few shows.
