Yeah, my F*cking pass. rear caliper has frozen and eaten through my break pads and half my rotor...Ive bought new pads n rotors and have taken the Caliper off...now what? Am I able to fix this GDF Caliper? or am I stuck with having to dish out 80 bucks to buy a new one??? :cuss

go buy a remanufactured one - NAPA - givng the old one back for the "core".

I was gonna say, you might as well replace both rear calipers.

you could always go for the Baer big brake upgrade :)

i took the ones off my GSX parts car..the only difference i could tell from the Gst to the Gsx is the E-break seems to be of smaller fitting than the Gst. I'll get that fixed soon enough as well, but other than that it wasnt too much of a problem.
Thanks anyways, guys.

Ok, shit hit the fan...I -think- it might still be locked. I still feel more heat coming from that tire than i do the rest...its silent, the brakes feel like they're working fine from the driver's seat, and nothing seems to be wrong...other than the fact that the pass. rear feels hotter than the rest.
Parked my car after i got home from work today (still raining) and steam was coming from that rotor, but not from any of the others...

This sound like a problem to you guys? or is it just my imagination?

My 90 did the same thing. In my case, it was the guide pin that was giving me trouble (you know, the one that doesn't come out :huh ). I never actually fixed it, but was told you could disassemble the whole thing, knock off the rust, relube and put it all back together. Most don't go through the hassle and just turn them in as a core for the ramanufactured ones.

It sounds like your slider pin needs a lube job. :thumb

On both the calipers though?
Why would one stop working right after i put on the Eibach springs, then as soon as i put on a new caliper to replace the old frozen one, that one freezes up as well?
Could just be coincidence, but with DSMs...almost nothing is coincidental.

Coincidence...simple as that. I doubt the springs have anything to do with it.

check the erubber boots around the bolts and see if they've come apart. If they have, dirt and oxidation will get in there very easily and freeze em up.
