funny noise

hey guys, i have a funny clacking noise sounds like its coming from my drivers side from the motor. it sounded like it was coming from my timing belt cover...so i removed it and i still get it now and again. it only makes the sound up to 2500-3000 rpms and it is gone after that. the car runs fine it just annoying. sometimes it does it until the motor warms up and then sometimes it does it only after it warms up. either way it only lasts for 10-15 min or so then it is gone. i have no leaks of any kind and i have no smoke or sputtering or anything. it runs fine...any idaes. id like to take care if it is a real prob... OH yah someone told me it might need an oil change but i just changed it and still doing it.

I second the thought on crank pulley...mine made a noise very similar to a water pump going bad..I bought a water pump, and right before I was about to to all my belts and the pump...my pulley let loose, throwing belts all over the place.

when my pulley died just 4 days ago.... it took my timing belt and head with it.

You should check on that ASAP.
