Alright, I'm sitting pretty close to the 141k mark on my odometer right now in my 95 N/T Talon. I want to get some major horses, and I see the stage II kit from Hahn Racecraft can do that for me. My only problem is of course my concern over engine durability. I know these econ based engines aren't made to handle boost, but how much more do you think I need to do to the engine before I turbo it? Any advice would help here, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to engines. Also, keep in mind that everything on my engine (save the air intake) is bone stock. Of course the car has a newly rebuilt tranny, so at least THAT is in good order.

http://www.columbusdsm.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=168 that and read 2gnt.com, the turbo section is a holy grail of knowledge for the 420A

Thanks. I see there will still be stuff to be done, but I'm still worried about the stability of the block...guess it's gonna be a (potentially expensive) risk I'm gonna have to take. ;)

i see a nother 420Arebuild in the near future...id spend the money on the rebuild first....then throw the turbo on...youll reap the benifits from boosting better with forged internals anyway.

Good call guys. I just talked to my friend who's pretty much my go-to when it comes to cars and we've decided to acquire a 420A block and start from scratch. That way over time I can build it to my specs and THEN turbo it, or maybe toss in a bottle 'o nitrous. Either way, I'm going to build a whole new engine for it. So...now the question remains.......anybody know where I can come across a good 420A block for cheap? :D

If your compression is good, it's probably OK to boost it, but I would RECOMMNED beginning by building up the internals first. It will save you a lot of headache and money in the long run.

ok... sense it is just the block ill let it go for $75 with the engine stand i paid $30+ for. Chad said he'll meet up with me this weekend so ill have it then. Also if there is anything else you might need from the stock engine, let me know b/c i probably have it
