I'm not sure how many of you have used the G-Tech before, I've heard both sides of the story. We've had relatively close results with the ET's, but the mph seems to be elevated a few MPH from track times which is what the G-Tech instructions will tell you.
Anyway, on the stock 155/80/13's burning them thru 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd I ran 14.40@111. I tried again launching in 2nd gear at a low RPM and it took awhile to reach boost and still ran a 14.27@112. Those times seem pretty comparable to what most are running with the 4G63T swap. I think it's easily capable of 13.90's with some decent drag radials or slicks.
This is with a stock 4G63T swap and a small front mount. I can't wait to do some mods and hit the track with some slicks.

thats alot of mph those traps are like high 12's or even maybe a mid 12 on a fwd with good 60ft.

I saw that he posted that, im stating that I dont ''think'' those things are accurate at all, theres no way it can get et's correct and mph wrong they go hand and hand....

I agree that ET and MPH are related, unless I can't drive. I know that I lost alot off the line, but I doubt it was almost 2 seconds worth. I wasn't smart enough to look at the Speedometer on the end of the run to compare, but I'd believe that it was probably around 100-105. 111 and 112 seem quite a bit high.

I've been using a Gtech for going on 5 years and it is extremely consistent and
reasonably accurate. [ +/- 0.1 sec., + 1 to 2 MPH ]
I see no contradiction with your " numbers " and the description of your run, i.e. high Et and high terminal speed.
Any car with a high HP to weight ratio could duplicate those numbers all day.

with that mph he should be running low 13's maybe 12's they cant be accurate at all... high et and high terminal spped dont go together, you would want low et's with that trap speed. how does a g tech even read speed?

Its a g force sensor.

so that makes no sense if hes spinning theres no way it can be accurate. I conclude.... just go to the track:D

I dont understand why people use the g-tech, I tried it once and it was crappy, just go to the track, the track never lies...unless you pay someone off, which I will be doing when I race Mike C at norwalk...;)

People use them because they are repeatable, very accurate and you can't always go to the track after tuning or working on your car.

What we really need is a speed sensor on one of the rear wheels that will give us a more accurate number because rear wheels do not spin in a FWD car. If the car has ABS, I wonder.....if you can tap into one of the rear wheel sensor signals.

The ultimate bench racing thread continues........
There are all kinds of cool things you can do with an ABS sensor. Some bracket racers a few years ago were cheating by using the ABS sensor and some fancy computer crapola to make their cars slow down at the big end to run a certain ET. So, it is possible, but I'm not capable of doing such work. Besides, the colt doesn't have ABS, although my '91 TSI does.
I WILL take the Colt to the track. The question is, should I take it with these cheesey 155/80/13's for similar results, or should I just find some drag radials or slicks?
Should I start another thread on "guess the Colt's ET" before I take it?

if you going to the track, dont use 155 tires, thats just stupid epecially with a FWD. go for your fastest possible time.
