What is that famous classic tale or movie about censorship where they are burning books in it?

Well, we are now living it.

A big THANK YOU :finger goes to Sinclair Broadcast Group which owns a local ABC TV station. They will be censoring Ted Koppel and blocking his reading of the list of the fallen soldiers in Iraq. (They have pulled the entire show off of the air).

Next thing you know....it turns out American forces were never in Iraq and there was never a war....and...and....there never really was a hollocaust...Jews were never killed and tortured...it's all just a story someone made up.

The show is suppose to air on ABC but....who the HELL cares about the ABC station anyway. It's not like they have any real good shows on that channel. I'd propose a group boycott of that channel but you would actually have to start watching that channel in order to stop.

They might as well just show it. I mean, if ppl really don't want to see it, then they don't have to watch the show.

I hope it shows up on the Internet somewhere. I want to see it now and I am prevented from seeing it. Hey Jamie, are they blocking it in the Bay Area? You need to record it before all historical records of it ever happened are wiped out. It's a big conspiracy. Sinclair is just another word for Satan.

I think it is a huge dishonor not to give tribute to the dead soldiers. I know that if I died while serving my country I would not want to go quietly in a secret burial ceremony and then be forgotten. Oh, sure, my family and friends will remember me and will be deeply touched by my death. But that is not enough for me, you see. I want the whole country to remember my name and my face and that I died serving in the military for this country.

cansorship rox.

1984 is the book you reference. The past is manipulated through manipulation of history and texts as well as complete censorship. The telescreen preaching constand messages of propaganda and party rhetoric. Were not quite that bad and I dont think we could swing that far to the right.

The "Party" slogan:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

I actually just read it again a few weeks ago.

Fahrenheit 451 is the movie I was thinking of.

1984....I thought we were already living that.
