View Full Version : why are there so many noises on a dsm

well mine is now making a strange noise for the last few days and ONLY when i first start the car and start to go in reverse or drive. it only does it for maybe 1-3 seconds if that long and ONLY when i first turn it on and start to move. it wont do it ifi sit at a light and start to go. its a strange sound like almost a grinding sound

you missing some oil somewhere?

not that i really know of and i always check my oil so i know im not out infact somehow its WAY full i have noticed though when i wipe it off with a rag the oil is MUCH cleaner than it usually was and usually is for a bit i thought maybe some coolant in my oil but i dont think so

coolant in oil will make a muddy look

hey, i have that same sound... well atleast i think so... it sounds like grinding or sparking of some sort and only when i first start it up..

My car had a sort of "grinding noise" right after it started up, immediately after I took my hand off the ignition it made the sound....it was the starter going bad.

well its not when i first turn it on. its when i start to drive like 4 sec after i put my foot on the gas starter going bad very good possibility i noticed it was taking longer to start this past month or so
